“I joined eir six weeks ago, having previously worked for BT. For me, the attraction is that eir manages the whole country’s IT telecommunications network. It’s a key part of the economy, making it possible for companies like Facebook, LinkedIn and Google to operate here.
I’m currently in the process of building my team. I have three Account Managers and I’m recruiting three more. My main challenge is to change the way eir Wholesale works with its customers – other telecoms operators. We want to become more proactive – not just sitting back and waiting for requests from them. Day-to-day I’m busy carrying out one-to-one meetings with my team and also meeting customers to explain our new approach.
I’ve found everyone here incredibly helpful and welcoming. They’re happy to talk and always ready to help if you have a problem. The working environment is great too. We’re based in a state-of-the-art building, with everything you could possibly need. Perhaps the best thing though, is the training and education that’s available. eir recently launched its ‘eir Academy’. It means that if you need training or qualifications to progress or do your job better, eir will support you financially.
